We're in the final few days of the countdown to opening the new National Football Museum on Friday 6 July. A huge amount of work has gone into the museum and we're now very close to seeing the end product of what is going to be a must-visit attraction for Manchester.

We've been taking lots of calls and emails from people excited about visiting the museum on the first open day, Friday 6 July and over the subsequent weekend. As a result we're expecting the museum to be very busy, and would ask visitors to arrive early to avoid disappointment, and to remain patient in the busier areas of the museum.

There's a lot to see, do and watch in the museum, and staff will be on hand to assist you. It may be necessary to limit access to the museum and certain attractions throughout the day, to make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible.

Admission to the museum is free, and will be first-come, first-served.

If you're planning on attending as part of a group, please email groups@nationalfootballmuseum.com before your visit. Groups of 10 or more are asked to make a booking before arriving so we can ensure you can access the museum's key attractions. Group visits will be self-guided.

There are no plans for celebrity or VIP visitors on 6 July, but there will be lots going on in and around the museum across the weekend.

We look forward to seeing you at this season's most exciting new fixture!
