Signed shirt worn by Jurgen Klinsmann on his Premiership debut for Tottenham Hotspur against Sheffield Wednesday in August 1994. There were suspicions about Klinsmann when he first arrived as the British media saw him as a “diver”. Klinsmann was keen to win the British public over though and so responded to the criticism by performing his famous “dive” celebration when he scored on his debut. Sprinting across the pitch, the German striker launched himself face first with his arms outstretched onto the turf. After a successful season which saw him crowned the Football Writers' Player of the Year, Klinsmann had silenced his critics.
