Hall of Fame Selection Panel

The National Football Museum Hall of Fame Selection Panel is made up of some of the greatest names in the game.

The inaugural panel brought together in 2002 comprised:

Jimmy Armfield
Sir Trevor Brooking (Museum Vice-President)
Jimmy Hill
Mark Lawrenson
Gordon Taylor

In addition, in susbsequent years all living inductees into the Hall of Fame automatically join the Selection Panel, so it grows each year, and currently comprises:

Tony Adams, Viv Anderson, Debbie Bampton, Gordon Banks, John Barnes, Colin Bell, Liam Brady, Eric Cantona, Jack Charlton, Sir Bobby Charlton (Museum President), Gillian Coulthard, Kenny Dalglish, Sir Alex Ferguson (Museum Vice-President), Sir Tom Finney (Museum Vice-President), Paul Gascoigne, Ryan Giggs, Dario Gradi, Jimmy Greaves, Alan Hansen, Roger Hunt, Sir Geoff Hurst, Pat Jennings, Roy Keane, Kevin Keegan, Howard Kendall, Dennis Law, Gary Lineker, Nat Lofthouse, Sue Lopez, Dave Mackay, Martin Peters, Hope Powell, Bryan Robson, Sir Bobby Robson, Ian Rush, Peter Schmeichel, Alan Shearer, Peter Shilton, Bernd (Bert) Trautmann, Arsene Wenger, Ian Wright, Gianfranco Zola

The inductees from 2007 now joining this illustrious group are:

Peter Beardsley, Dennis Bergkamp, Stephen Daley, Glenn Hoddle, Mark Hughes, Niall Quinn, Graeme Souness, Nobby Stiles, Terry Venables and Karen Walker.

Former Watford, Aston Villa and England manager, Graham Taylor, joined the Panel in 2008.

In 2007, a group of eminent football historians joined the panel to advise on players from the early years of the game:

Rob Galvin, Peter Holme, Dick Holt, Prof Graham Kelly, Tony Mason, Gail Newsham, Prof Dave Russell, John Walton and Jean Williams.
