Museum Scores At The Biggest International Football Convention Ever Seen
Representatives from The National Football Museum were a huge success at the eighth annual Soccerex International Football Convention, that took place on the 29th and 30th November, in Dubai. They took over the world's most famous football trophy, in the form of the FA Cup, to highlight the work that they do to over 800 football businesses from across the world.
Museum spokesman Mark Bushell said:
“The companies who attended the convention ranged from stadium architects and individual Football Associations to Clubs and Agents. There were representatives from the Kaizer Chiefs, the Champions of the Premier Soccer League in South Africa, and Boca Juniors, Maradona's original club in Argentina. It was a perfect platform to begin dialogue with potential partners to see if we can work with them in creating football exhibitions overseas in the future”
It was quickly established that the two aforementioned clubs were interested in improving the exhibitions that they currently display within their stadiums. It may be that the Museum may be able to help improve upon them.
And Bushell stressed that The National Football Museum needs to be seen regularly, on a world stage, in order to develop business overseas.
“We have already exhibited in Japan , Portugal , Germany and Belgium but we want to develop football exhibitions wherever there is a major football tournament, or in any town or city that sees value in an exhibition detailing the history of the game. To meet up again with representatives of FIFA and UEFA was great and keeps the Museum in their consciousness for future projects”.
Soccerex was opened by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai, at the Madinat Jumeirah hotel in Dubai. Around 160 clubs attended the event along with approximately 25 national associations and representatives from the federations.
A spokesman from Soccerex said:
“There is no other place in the world where clubs can hit so many people that can exploit their brand”.
