The National Football Museum goes to the Races!

The National Football Museum was delighted to support the inaugural Football Furlong™ race meeting held at Haydock Park on Sunday 11th July 04.

Football Furlong™ is a brand new concept of an annual day's football-themed horseracing, featuring six races with the jockeys racing in the generic shirt colours of Premiership football teams, creating an exciting and colourful raceday. It is an event that taps into the enormous dual interest and growing synergy that exists between horseracing and football.

The National Football Museum promoted a lively and exciting stand to members of the public which was the centrepiece of the Football Furlong™ Village.

The Museum had a small memorabilia exhibition at their stand for people to enjoy and also gave the public a tremendous opportunity to have their picture taken with the iconic FA Cup Trophy.

The event was a tremendous success with hundreds of families, children, football and indeed racing enthusiasts enjoying the Museum's contribution on the day.
