West Ham Fans Get A Unique Opportunity To Be Photographed With The European Cup Winners Cup
West Ham United fans will get the chance to see one of the trophies that their club has won in their illustrious history when the Hammers visit Deepdale for their Championship fixture against Preston North End on Saturday 18th November, at 3.00pm .
The European Cup Winners Cup will be on display, within The National Football Museum's ‘UEFA Exhibition', which celebrates the 50th Anniversary of European football's governing body.
And what's more Hammers fans will continue to benefit in the 2004/05 season from the fact that entry into The National Football Museum, located within Deepdale Stadium, continues to be completely FREE .
The National Football Museum which houses the greatest collections of football memorabilia in the world, has recently been loaned some truly outstanding football gems. These include unbelievably, the match ball from the first ever World Cup final in 1930 between Uruguay and Argentina, the shirt Diego Maradona wore in the infamous “Hand of God” game and John Motson's inimitable sheepskin coat.
And in recognition of West Ham winning the ‘Cup Winners Cup' in 1965 the Museum are allowing Hammers fans to have their photograph taken with the impressive trophy . Supporters young and old will be able to hold aloft the cup that Bobby Moore and his side secured after their 2-0 victory over Munich 1860, in front of 100,000 supporters at Wembley.
Mark Bushell, National Football Museum spokesman, said: ‘This is a great chance for West Ham supporters to hold one of Europe 's iconic trophies. West Ham, under Ron Greenwood, played attacking and positive football and Alan Sealey's brace gave the Hammers a well deserved victory. To be pictured with the trophy will rekindle great memories for all Hammers fans.'
Supporters who provide their own camera can have their picture taken with the trophy for only £3.00 , whilst Museum personnel can take a photograph for visitors for just £10.00 + P&P.
The trophy will be available from 12.30pm-2.30pm.
