UEFA Executive Committee visit National Football Museum

On Sunday 19th June The National Football Museum was delighted to welcome the UEFA Executive Committee who chose to visit before the European Women's Championship Final later in the day.

The high ranking officials included UEFA CEO Lars-Christer Olsson, FA Chief Executive Brian Barwick and Chairman Geoff Thompson who all enjoyed a private viewing of the world's greatest football Museum.

Football legend and National Football Museum Hall of Fame Inductee, Sir Tom Finney, was accompanied by Councillor Bhikhu Patel, Mayor of Preston, who both helped museum staff welcome the Executive Committee on arrival.

The visit by such senior officials is further testament to the fabulous reputation The National Football Museum has developed as one of the world's leading sport's museums. It is also further evidence of the excellent relationship the Museum has forged with UEFA.

Last September, the Museum collaborated with UEFA to create an exhibition at the European parliament in Brussels to celebrate the organisations 50th anniversary. Recently the Museum once again successfully worked with UEFA to create the official European Women's Championship exhibition, Girls Allowed, which is now open at the Museum.

The visit was a great success and the Executive Committee, other UEFA staff and the Women's Committee who visited were all genuinely enthralled by the Museum and its collections.
