David Lammy, MP, Minister for Culture, visits National Football Museum

On Thursday, 14 June 2007 the National Football Museum was delighted to welcome David Lammy, MP, Minister for Culture, to the Museum. The Minister toured the exhibitions of the Museum with Paul Dermody, Chair of Trustees of the Museum, and Kevin Moore , Museum Director, before meeting with a number of representatives from community groups from the Museum's ground breaking social inclusion projects. David Lammy met with the young women from the Asian Heritage community of Deepdale, who have produced an interactive film, 'One Aim, One Game', about what football means to them and their community, which is on permanent display at the Museum.

The Minister was also photographed with an item from the new display at the National Football Museum , the Priory Collection, namely Danny Blanchflower's shirt from the 1961 Cup Final, when Spurs became the first team in the 20th Century to achieve the "double".

David Lammy wrote in the Museum's visitor's book: 'The best Thursday morning I've had in a long time. What a wonderful collection. Look forward to returning with the family. Keep inspiring'.
