PFA Boss Gordon Taylor pays tribute to National Football Museum and its Hall of Fame
In a heartfelt foreword for the new edition of the official guide to the story of the members of the National Football Museum Hall of Fame by Robert Galvin, Gordon Taylor OBE, Chief Executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, has given a generous tribute to the Museum and its Hall of Fame.
The PFA have been sponsors of the Hall of Fame since its inauguration in 2002 and Gordon Taylor has attended all the ceremonies and in presenting individual awards has reminded the audience of the shared role that the National Football Museum and the PFA have in celebrating great players and managers from the past to the present.
In his introduction in the book he generously says that:
"The National Football Museum in Preston had the strength, courage and belief to establish their own tremendous tribute to the world's most popular participant and spectator sport - being based at a club which is a founder member of the Football League in the heart of Lancashire, within easy access of many of the greatest football clubs in this country and the world. Long may the National Football Museum continue to flourish and long may the Hall of Fame pay tribute to the game's heroes."
