LATEST HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE ANNOUNCED
The National Football Museum has announced an addition to the award winners at this year's Hall of Fame. Niall Quinn is to be the first recipient of the new Football Foundation Community Champion award.
He will receive the award at the prestigious Hall of Fame ceremony being held on 15 November at Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium.
Niall Quinn had a very successful career as a forward for Arsenal, Manchester City and Sunderland . As Chairman of Sunderland he led the northeast club's revival to Premiership status. In 2002 he became the first player to donate all the proceeds of his testimonial game to charity, raising over £1 million for children in need in Sunderland, Ireland, Africa and Asia, and establishing the Niall Quinn Children's Charity. This led to him being awarded an honorary MBE and the Beacon Prize for charitable giving. As Sunderland Chairman, Quinn is well known for being a champion of local community initiatives through the Sunderland AFC Foundation.
His award is sponsored by the Football Foundation, the UK 's largest sport charity, which is funded by the Premier League, The Football Association, Sport England and the Government.

He is truly a Community Champion.

Niall Quinn joins the following inductees in the Hall of Fame 2007:
Male Players: Peter Beardsley, Dennis Bergkamp, Glenn Hoddle, Mark Hughes, Billy Meredith, Graeme Souness, Nobby Stiles.
Manager: Terry Venables
Female Players: Karen Walker, Joan Whalley
FA Football for All Award: Steven Daley
