Hall of Fame 2009 inductees announced

The National Football Museum and its Hall of Fame Selection Panel is delighted to announce the inductees for 2009:

Ossie Ardiles commented: ‘It is truly a great honour for me to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame and to be in the company of other Tottenham legends such as Danny Blanchflower, Dave Mackay, Jimmy Greaves and Glenn Hoddle.’
Sir Trevor Brooking said: ‘It was a wonderful surprise and great honour to hear I have been voted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame.  To be selected by a panel led by my heroes Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Tom Finney is very special.  I am particularly delighted to be joining my West Ham team mates Bobby Moore, Sir Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters along with England team mate Kevin Keegan in the Hall of Fame.’ 
Marieanne Spacey commented: ‘It was a great honour playing for England. To join the likes of Hope Powell, Pauline Cope and Lily Parr in the National Football Museum Hall of Fame feels just as special.’

Awards will be presented at three ceremonies across the country in September:
10 September - Manchester
22 September - Birmingham
23 September - London

For the first time the National Football Museum Hall of Fame will be filmed for showing on national television - a programme on Sky Sports will be broadcast shortly after completion of the events.
