Kaiserslautern FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 Team Visit The National Football Museum

Kaiserslautern, a thriving city in south-west Germany, was proud to be one of the 12 host venues for FIFA World Cup Germany 2006. With the tournament successfully completed, on 18 November Bernhard Deubig, Lord Mayor of Kaiserslautern, led a team on a fact finding mission to the National Football Museum in England. The visiting group also included Erwin Saile, Co-ordinator for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Kaiserslautern has ambitious plans to develop its own Football Museum.

After a tour of the National Football Museum, Mayor Deubig said: “Truly inspiring! I believe Kaiserslautern should have a football Museum of this quality to celebrate our historic hosting of the World Cup in 2006.”

As a result of the visit, the National Football Museum has agreed to be a partner in the exciting plans to develop a Football Museum in Kaiserslautern.

Kevin Moore, Director of the National Football Museum said: “We felt it was a great honour to receive this visit from Lord Mayor Deubig, Erwin Saile and the Kaiserslautern Football Museum team. We look forward to working with them in the future.”
