Match of the Day Editor, Paul Armstrong, visits the Museum

On 6 October, Paul Armstrong, Editor of Match of the Day visited the Museum. He greatly enjoyed a tour of the galleries, delighting in some of the best known items on display, and has now written a very generous review about it on the BBC Sports Editors' Blog.

The review concludes:

"Football may be considered lowbrow in some quarters, but it's a huge part of our modern cultural history and it's absolutely right that it should be celebrated in a National Football Museum. It's also appropriate that the museum is housed in football's original professional heartland at the ground of one of the Football League's twelve founder members, and indeed it's first champion (Preston North End). So if you, or your team, are in the North West, it's a detour well worth taking!"
