Treasures of the North event at the House of Commons.
The National Football Museum was invited by Museums, Libraries and Archives Northwest to an event at the House of Commons on 28 February 2007 to showcase and celebrate the important collections and archives held in the north of England. Organisations from the Northeast and Yorkshire regions also took part.
The 1966 World Cup Final ball proved to be of great interest to all Ministers and MPs who attended.
National Football Museum Director, Kevin Moore said: “We are very grateful to MLA Northwest for inviting us to this important event. We were proud to play our part in representing museums in the Northwest region.”
The 1966 ball was provided courtesy of Eurostar, Mirror Group and Virgin Group.
