Cyrille Regis visits the National Football Museum
We were delighted to welcome the former West Bromwich Albion, Coventry City and England star Cyrille Regis to the Museum on 14th January 2008. Cyrille took time out of his busy schedule as a football agent to tour the Museum and also to loan for display some outstanding items relating to his club and international career. These items included: Cyrille's FA Cup winners' medal, won with Coventry City in 1987, and England caps from the following matches: Turkey 1986-88 (full international), Australia 1980-81 (‘B' international) and Denmark, Bulgaria and Scotland 1978-79-80 (under 21s).
Cyrille Regis said: “I was delighted to visit the National Football Museum and see so many amazing objects and film footage of football's history. I am very pleased to loan some of my international caps and my FA Cup Winner's Medal to the Museum, where they will be displayed for the enjoyment of all fans visiting the Museum”.
Kevin Moore , Museum Director, said: “We were delighted to welcome Cyrille to the Museum and equally delighted he has been able to loan so many outstanding items from his career for display. We had noticed that the lack of material relating to Cyrille's outstanding career was an important gap in our displays, and it is great that we have now been able to put this right.”
