Tessa Sanderson visits National Football Museum to celebrate the Olympic Handover
Tessa Sanderson CBE, javelin Olympic gold medallist from 1984, visited the Museum as part of Preston's Olympic Handover event and flag raising on 24 August 2008.
Tessa enjoyed seeing the Museum's display about Olympic football and meeting up with the official announcer from the 1908 Olympics, Albert William Knightsmith, played in costume by Peter Evans, Museum Education Officer. She was also introduced to Hall of Famer and captain of the England partially sighted football team, Stephen Daley.
