First Half Gallery
The More Than a Game exhibition
within the First Half of the museum will take you on a journey through football
history. Using the latest technology we tell the story of the game from its
origins over 150 years ago, to the present day.
You'll learn about the individuals and teams who have helped to shape the
game that we know today. The first black player to make his debut in English
football in the 1880s, the women’s team which attracted a massive 53,000
crowd in 1921 and the man who, in 1961, helped the players of today to command
their huge salaries.
You'll also see who was making the news outside football. From Queen Victoria to the Spice Girls, you'll gain an understanding of the social history of the day.
The entrance to the First Half Gallery displays details on the Inductees into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame.
