The Art of Football
Saturday 15 March – Sunday 8 June
Football has inspired many artists to paint and draw. The National Football Museum holds many of the world's finest examples of football artwork from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. On display in this exhibition will be some of the greatest pieces from our collection, displayed together for the first time.
The artwork will feature famous players and matches, football stadiums and still life in a number of artistic mediums. Discover how the representation of football in art has changed over the years and see work by British and European artists such as Cecil Beaton, Edwin La Dell, Thomas M. Hemy and Ithell Colquhoun.
