As part of the #HiddenHistory project, funded by the Arts Council, the National Football Museum is delighted to be running and hosting the biggest conference on the history and heritage of women’s football.

Coinciding with International Women's Day on 8 March, Upfront and Onside features a programme of influential keynote speakers from around the globe, focusing on over 150 years of the women’s game.

The talks will cover watershed moments in the development of women's football, its impact and growth on these shores and overseas, and looking ahead to the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. The comprehensive two-day conference will examine a range of issues that the women's game has faced, tackling issues around sexuality, gender roles, religion and culture.
