Soccket

SOCCKET is an electricity generating football, which captures energy through an integrated dynamo mechanism: one of a range of innovative, energy-generating, products by Uncharted Play, a social enterprise, co-founded by Harvard graduates Jessica O. Matthews and Julia Silverman.

How does it work? As you play with the SOCCKET a small pendulum inside the ball harnesses the kinetic energy of movement by turning a generator connected to a rechargeable battery. Just one hour of football can provide up to three hours of light from the included LED lamp.

SOCCKET Specifications:
6 watt output – capable of powering the lamp for more than 72 hours
Weighs 17oz – one ounce more than normal soccer ball
Airless, Water Resistant

On display 8 May – 19 July 2015
