The Women’s World Cup, all this month at the National Football Museum

The National Football Museum will be celebrating the Women’s World Cup across the galleries for the duration of the tournament and beyond.

Create your own Lionesses portraits in the style of illustrator Stanley Chow on our Score Draw craft tables (Sat 8 & Sun 16 June, 10:30am – 12:30pm), and trade the players you’ve got with the ones that you need at our Panini Women’s World Cup sticker swap sessions, running between 11am and 1pm on Saturday 15 and 22 June.

There are more opportunities to learn the fascinating history of the Women’s World Cup in one of our fascinatingtwenty-minute Football Shorts talks, kicking off at 2pm on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June.

Continue the journey with our dedicated Women’s World Cup trail. Find the objects from each tournament, and use your answers to uncover the secret mystery word. Bring your completed trail to the museum gift shop and claim a special prize! Keep hold of your booklet and follow the progress of every team throughout the summer with our portable WWC ‘wallchart’, or pick up a free A3 version on the Welcome Wing! (Subject to availability)

On the weekend of the final, VR artist Rosie Summers will be painting another WWC-related masterpiece for all to see on the Pitch Gallery’s big screen. See how she uses Google Tilt Brush technology to bring a virtual artwork to life without using a drop of paint, then have a go yourself!

More new objects – including a statue of Lily Parr, the first female player to be commemorated in this manner - feature on our galleries, telling the oft-neglected but incredibly important stories of the women’s game. We’ll also be showing our support with specially commissioned banners from artists Will Bindley and Eugene Noble flying high above the Pitch Gallery.
