Michael Browne’s ‘The Art of the Game’ Print

Product Description

A high quality reproduction of one of the National Football Museum’s most unique and eye-catching exhibits – The Art of the Game by Michael Browne.

Originally painted in a Deansgate bar by Mancunian artist Browne, its subject Eric Cantona agreed to pose for the renaissance-style piece before promising to purchase the finished item. Other members of Manchester United’s 1995/96 team, as well as manager Sir Alex Ferguson, feature in the work, which is based on Piero della Francesca’s 15th Century painting ‘The Resurrection’. The artist draws a parallel between the biblical event and Cantona’s return from an 8 month ban following his ‘kung fu kick’ incident at Selhurst Park.

The A3 print is available framed, or unframed.
