Football for the blind and visually impaired is becoming ever more popular on these shores. A Paralympic sport since 2004, blind football has been dominated by the South Americans, with Brazil in particular leading the way. After missing out on the Rio Olympics, England's side is on the rise, finishing as runners-up in the recent Partially Sighted Futsal World Championships.

Merseyside Blind F.C. are looking to encourage more blind and visually impaired people to lead the charge, and will be staging a blind football taster at the National Football Museum on Tuesday 22 August from 11am to 2pm.

The session will be led by England Emerging Talent Squad member and Merseyside Blind F.C. player Azeem Amir, a young sportsman who has already garnered significant national recognition. Azeem will be helping visitors try their hand at blind football in the Hall of Fame, teaching visitors about the rules and nature of the game.

All are welcome to take part in the free demonstration, so come and see if you have the skills required for this adapted version of futsal.
