Create the Space Photography small

Our latest Create the Space talk is a response to our latest exhibition, When Football Was Football, a photographic retrospective from Sefton Samuels. The collection focuses on the gritty and often revealing face of football from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

In this discussion, we will be speaking to a panel of expert voices on a crucial element of Sefton's work: the relationship between football, photography and cultural identity. The panel will discuss their own challenges and experiences of representing of community, commerce, politics and class through their images.

The online talk will be hosted by BBC multimedia journalist Omar Mehtab, and features photographers Sophie Cook (AFC Bournemouth) and Joe Dent (Peterborough United) alongside Abbie Jennings (Tate Liverpool, National Football Museum) and Zoe Hitchen (We Are Bury exhibition).

The discussion will run for one hour, and there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions at the end. Sign up FREE via Crowdcast below for updates:
