From Moss Side to Marseille: Inshallah United & King Eric Calendar

23 February 2023 - 23 February 2023
3pm - 4pm

Inshallah United and King Eric landscape Warm up for Manchester United v Barcelona with a talk dedicated to the red half of Manchester, featuring two of the city's top writers.

Writer and avid United fan Nooruddean Choudry will be here at the museum to talk about his upcoming book, Inshallah United: A story of faith and football. Due out in March, Choudry's debut chronicles his experiences as a "strictly halal Stretford Ender", and how the city and the club shaped his identity.

Joining Nooruddean is another United die-hard. Wayne Barton has authored no fewer than seventeen books (there may well be more) on the club, its players and its managers, with one title in particular, King Eric, charting the impact the enigmatic Frenchman had on the game's culture.

The pair will be in the company of National Football Museum's very own Marek Romaniszyn. Our curator will be providing further context, insight and recollections on United's modern heyday.

The £7 ticket for this talk also grants admission to the museum for the day, giving you the opportunity to see our related exhibition, From Moss Side to Marseille: The Art of Michael Browne and Eric Cantona.
